The Inspiration of the Sayajibaug Zoo in Baroda came from H. H. Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III – a Great Visionary Ruler of Baroda. It was way back in 1875 when a tract of land on the bank of river Vishwamitri, on the outskirts of the city was chosen by the Maharaja to develop a vast garden and a zoo. The Maharaja donated his own private collection of Indian and Exotic Animals to the Zoo, and on 8th January 1879, the park was declared open to the public. Since then Sayaji Baug Zoo has a rich history of wildlife heritage, and has evolved as an institution for education and research. Presently, the Sayaji Baug Zoo is divided in three section (1) Bird Section, (2) Bear Section (Rinchh Khana), (3) Tiger section (Wagh Khana), with 212 animals of 18 species, 583 birds of 64 species and 79 reptiles of 7 species. These includes 4 species from the Cat family, 5 species of Primates and 9 species of Ungulates. Total number of animals is 874 of 89 species. This green space serves as green lungs of the city. The walk-in aviary in the Kamatibaug Zoo is now open for visitors. The aviary was planned in 2018 and included in the budget of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) in the same year. Work began a couple of years ago and completed recently following which the order for birds for the project was placed. The entire aviary is spread in an area of around 7,000 sq m. This included 5,500 sq m of the walk-in aviary. The vertical height of the aviary at the peak is 26 m. It has eight sections in all. These include the walk-in aviary and seven other sections. The walk-in aviary is also divided in two parts from the inside. The aviary has been divided into the sections based on taxonomical grouping as Dome 1 and Dome 2. So far, the aviary has around 75 species of birds and more are going to be added soon. The zoo is targeting 80 species in the near future. Nearly 500 birds exist in the aviary and the number is expected to rise further as more birds arrive.

The infusion of high technology based precision weaponry has enhanced the lethality of future warfare manifold. The spectrum of threat ranges from the nuclear to the conventional and the asymmetric, with terrorism emerging like a hydra-headed monster. The Indian Army soldier is infused by a set of values that make the soldier willingly face a plethora of challenges and difficulties, and when the call may come, to give the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the Nation. The ethos of the Army is ingrained in all soldiers with an unwavering will to succeed, accepting their grave responsibility and an unbridled ability to give their lives for others; confident that in return the nation will look after them and their families.

On behalf of Women in Motorsports North America (WIMNA), we are pleased to announce the second annual Women with Drive II - Driven by Mobil 1 (WWD II) - a motorsport industry event bringing together the most successful and influential people in motorsports to discuss the current issues and needs to advance opportunities for a more diverse and inclusive environment to help grow the motorsports industry. This event occurs at Charlotte Motor Speedway at The Speedway Club on October 5th and 6th in Concord, North Carolina. The inaugural Women with Drive, curated by GSEvents LLC, preceded the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix NTT INDYCAR Series race. The event was sold-out, with 115 attendees. WWD II is now a part of Women in Motorsports North America, with the net proceeds benefitting WIMNA, a non-profit founded in 2022 by two iconic women in the motorsports industry, Lyn St. James and Beth Paretta.
